Effective Behavioral Feedback

Feedback is crucial for career development, both positive and negative. For new managers and experienced leaders, effective communication during feedback conversations is critical in facilitating a work environment that promotes growth and communication. Behavioral feedback conversations can be difficult for leaders and managers to have with team members, especially when providing negative feedback. Poorly executed behavioral feedback conversations can affect the individual, and may result in a decline in performance and motivation. Leaders and managers must have enough training and practice in these important conversational skills to ensure that they provide constructive feedback that resolves the issues in an empathetic and effective manner.

Module Details

In this ‘Effective Behavioral Feedback’ learning module, learners take on the role of a senior manager at a fictional IT firm. They are tasked with providing feedback to an employee who made comments in a company-wide meeting that offended his colleagues. The learner must communicate that his behavior was offensive, and help him identify actionable changes to make going forward.
