Effective Performance Feedback

Feedback is crucial for career development, both positive and negative. For new managers and experienced leaders, effective communication during feedback conversations is critical in facilitating a work environment that promotes growth and communication. Although sometimes difficult, providing feedback due to a drop in performance is an important conversation for leaders to have. Performance feedback conversations require a high understanding of how to provide a collaborative discussion that motivates employees resulting in better performance and increased connectedness in the workplace. These conversations are not easy for individuals to receive; reinforcing the importance of training leaders and managers for real-world situations.

Module Details

In this ‘Performance Feedback’ learning module, learners take on the role of a senior manager at a fictional IT firm. They are tasked with providing feedback to an employee who typically performs well, but has recently experienced a dramatic change in the caliber of his performance. The learner must discuss the drop in performance with him, and identify actionable changes he can take to improve.
